I am looking to recruit an AIX/Unix Administrator to join a team that manages several hundred Unix or linux instances running AIX, Solaris and Redhat flavours.

The team are responsible for critical applications with a 24 x 7 availability and provide onsite support between 8am and 6pm and on-call cover outside of these hours. The team is responsible for day to day fault fixing, delivering new projects, proactive auditing and upgrades.

You will be required to provide onsite cover between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday on a rota basis. You may be asked to works out of hours on occasions, depending on the needs of the business. You should be able to work under pressure and to solve problems in a timely manner. You should be able to apply your existing knowledge and to absorb new information and skills as relevant training and coaching will be provided to the right candidate. You will need to be a good communicator and able to make and meet self-imposed deadlines with the customer. You should also be a team player and are able to become assimilated into the team

In order to be successful in your application you are required to have gained the following experience:

Essential

Minimum 5 years recent system administration experience in IBM AIX
Management of LPARs using HMC
Management of VIO servers
Korn Shell scripting

Desirable

System administration skills in Redhat
Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)
Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) - SAN experience
