Position: Front End Web Developer
Location: Chicago
Status: Freelance
Estimated duration: 6.5 months
Starts: ASAP; Interviewing Immediately
Rate: Up to $43/hr DOE
Our client, a major retailer, is seeking a Web Developer for a long-term freelance assignment.
You will be working within the ecommerce department and will be responsible for new assets as well as maintaining current assets across all web properties.
To be considered for this opportunity please have:
- Expert level skills in coding for HTML, CSS and JavaScript (including handwritten AJAX and jQuery) across all browsers
- Strong object-oriented development skills and experience developing client-side applications, MVC architecture familiarity is assumed.
- A solid knowledge of and be comfortable working in XHTML, XML and RSS
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience including work on large-scale web initiatives
- Proficiency in server-side languages to include PHP or equivalent (though PHP preferred)
- Experience working within a collaborative environment to include UX and Design Teams and have a working knowledge of best practices
- The ability to conduct code walkthroughs and troubleshoot accordingly
- Prior experience developing reusable code libraries
