Our client is seeking an experienced SQL DBA to join their team on site in Wantage, Oxford. *Provide database design leadership during the development and enhancement of databases and SQL jobs; including working with developers, technical support during the design, development and implementation phases
*Responsible for proactive monitoring ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the systems (high resilience, performance tuning and minimum downtime).
*Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL development, and give consultation to development and support teams
*Responsible for Database design and implementation.
*Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
*Evaluate new features and MSSQL related products.
*Transform data via standardization, cleaning, data repair, matching, and de-duping
*Develop feeds to Data Warehouse and Marts. Manage data from multiple sources
*Perform daily, weekly, and monthly data maintenance tasks and checks
*Assist in data management processes (template, mass data load, mass data update)
*Provide third line support for helpdesk calls.
Essentials:
Experience in Database Design, performance and admistration
Educated to relevant Degree level
Knowledge: Microsoft SQL Server (2005, 2012)
SQL Server Integration Services
Ms Analysis Services
ITIL Skill set (Problem Management/Incident Management)
