Description
Systems Analyst/QA Tester
Growing and stable company has an immediate need for a Systems Analyst on a contract basis - a person will be needed for a minimum of 6 months and there is a chance for permanent conversion if desired. In this role, your time will be divided between testing, requirements gathering, and post production support. Must be hands-on and able to dig into problems to adequately identify issues and to properly give feedback while testing occurs.
As an objective summary, you will develop, implement, and maintain requirements gathering, handle initial design documentation, and test activities for developed and deployed custom apps. In addition, execute end to end testing scenarios across internal and external systems and interfaces. Work closely with development staff to communicate and track defects and enhancements, and interact with internal and external customer contacts through all aspects of the SDLC including post-production support. Interacts with internal as well as external (customer) contacts throughout all aspects of the SDLC process, as well as post production support. Development is iterative in nature at this company.
Responsibilities:
- Gathers requirements and performs analysis against existing base systems.
- Requirements analysis and definition as needed during the development process. Will assist in a functional role as needed during projects, including defining application requirements, changes, and process improvements.
- Create/define requirements documentation, initial design documentation and walkthrough, and test approach, strategy, and scripts.
- Compare current system functionality against requirements to help guide and formulate design recommendations.
- Responsible for functional application testing, including development of system test plans, cases, test data, and expected/actual results.
- Develop/implement regression test plans and strategies, with the understanding that others may be called upon to assist with regression activities
- Develop test cases to test XML interfaces/system testing.
- Support internal User Acceptance Testing
- Maintain system documentation associated with changes and base applications.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in testing web based technologies, particularly .NET, and requirement gathering experience.
- Understanding of relational databases (SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012 preferred), including ability to execute simple SQL statements for test data verification
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Experience in utilizing source control tools (Microsoft TFS or Starteam).
- Development methodology background (Agile/Scrum, RUP, etc).
Preferences:
- Experience in testing XML interfaces is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree
- Crystal Reports and Oracle (Converting CS and Oracle 11g to SQL)
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Knowledge of healthcare claims transactions
