This position will be doing a mixture of .NET and PL/SQL Development. The client will consider EITHER 1. A strong .NET Developer who is willing to do some PL/SQL Development (and learn PL/SQL) ...OR...2. A strong PL/SQL Developer who is willing to learn and do some .NET Development as well as Oracle Development.
This position is responsible for the analysis, design, development, maintenance and support of interfaces, data infrastructure, and associated .Net functionalities related to systems supported by Strategic Initiatives team. Ideal candidate will have the ability to build solutions with limited guidance.
Responsibilities Include:
- Creation and maintenance of PL/SQL scripts and stored procedures
- Creation and maintenance of VB.NET and C#.Net modules for both web-based and Client Server environments
- Design, develop and maintain data extraction/transformation processes and ensure that data is properly loaded/extracted in and out of our systems
- Investigate data quality issues and implement appropriate solutions
- Help to improve the performance, scalability and stability of both our database and .NET systems by identifying and implementing programming enhancements and by being a part of our continuous efforts to improve our processes
- Develop technical system documentation
Bachelor Degree or greater in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or a related discipline. Experience in a lab or Research and Development environment a plus.
Candidate will be required to perform as a team member in the planning, design and implementation of System management systems. Candidate must be able to work effectively with other System administrators and application development teams to complete team oriented projects, goals and objectives. The position requires on-call (pager support) and scheduled night & weekend (off-hour) support of System systems.
Technical Experience/Skills Required
- 3 + years PL/SQL coding experience
- 3+ years VB.NET or C#.Net coding experience (Web-based environment preferred)
- 3+ Years Oracle database experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem solving capabilities, ability to effectively utilize available internal and external resources.
- Incorporates best practices (ie automation of manual processes), where applicable.
