Opportunities have arisen within the Hardware/Software Systems teams of a leading Aerospace company for Hardware and Software Systems Engineers. You will be familiar with the development life cycle and will help in the creation of new avionic products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capturing, understanding and documenting the customer's system requirements
  • Create model-based designs using state-of-the-art computer aided systems and software engineering tools
  • Creating system designs which specify control, display, monitoring and built in test functions for implementation in electronic hardware and software
  • Creating and performing systems tests
  • Perform avionic system analysis, modelling and simulation
  • Perform system safety analysis, including hazard assessment and fault tree analysis
  • Develop requirements for systems test facilities
  • Define aircraft installation requirements for avionics

The Person

The following is essential for this role:

  • Previous experience in an Embedded systems development environment
  • Use of DOORS
  • Experience of creating system designs, for implementation in hardware and software.
  • An understanding of hardware engineering of standalone electronic and mechanical hardware configuration items and Embedded software.
  • Experience of the systems design life cycle within aerospace or a similar industry.
  • The ability to work independently to research techniques and methodologies, with a view to producing a white paper and presenting recommendations to the project team
  • Be a self-starter that sets realistic and challenging goals for personal and professional development
  • Experience in using models to simulate and validate the system design with tools such as Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, Statemate and/or SCADE

The following experience is desirable:

  • In-depth product knowledge of avionic systems.
  • DO178B/DO254 Experience.
  • Working to ARP4754A
  • ARINC
  • HMI/MMI development knowledge
  • Civil certification experience
