IT Infrastructure Analyst

Your function

1. Purpose
* To support technical solutions in accordance with defined architectures, policies and standards that satisfy business, regulatory and ITI technical drivers
* To document policies and standards that underpin defined architectures
* To troubleshoot technical problems and Remedy through direct action or action plans
* To provide resource to project initiatives involving Applications and Database Systems

2. Responsibilities
* The efficient operation and support of the technical environment including Servers, Applications and Databases.
* The resolution of critical failures and incidents.
* Provide support for projects managed externally from the team (infrastructure or business driven) through provision of technical resource, and regular liaison with the project managers.
* In liaison with the project manager, resolving resource conflicts and prioritisation against other activities.
* Work with IT Management to drive a cost effective service.
* Implement new technical process and procedures as agreed by the Dept Head
* Ensure Configuration details of supported IT Infrastructure components are maintained and documented.
* Working with RIIT ensuring that engineered services are implemented to agreed standards and quality levels.
* Responsible for maintaining, planning and implementing refresh of local ITI technology components in line with regional standards.
* Represent the bank at a number of regional ITI working groups.
* To take on other responsibilities for which the job holder is suitably capable to perform, training and development will be provided as required.
* Ensure all release/change packaging and documentation meets agreed quality standards

3. Qualifications
* Educated to degree standard in an IT or business related discipline or equivalent
* Industry recognised qualifications (eg Oracle, Microsoft,ITIL)

4. Technical
* 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
* Oracle 10g and 11g database on Windows experience required
* Oracle on Unix operating system experience required
* Oracle Application Server - Weblogic experience desirable
* SQL Server experience desirable
* Have good SQL, UNIX and windows Scripting skill
* Oracle OCP certification an advantage
* Daily administration and support of the Test and Development databases with particular emphasis on Oracle
* Perform regular database backup and recovery operations
* Provide key technical input to optimisation of Oracle database configuration and administration processes
* Support end users of all database systems, development and production, in respect of user access, privileges and security
* Exposure to the following technologies and tools an advantage:
* Oracle Enterprise Manager, IIS, Putty, Toad, Mqueue, Scheduling tools eg Autosys, crontab
* Technical Engineering Skills
