As the procurement consultant, you will be asked to....

  • Provide advice on ICT procurement, tendering and contract management in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, initiatives and departmental policies;
  • Work within a small team to develop and institute procedures and practices to ensure the procurement of goods and services which are value for money, meet objectives and comply with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and relevant legislation;
  • Manage procurements using industry best practices, facilitate tender board meetings and participate in tender evaluation committees where appropriate;
  • Represent, liaise and negotiate on behalf of the Agency
  • Provide advice on risk and project management as it relates to ICT procurement and contract management
  • Provide technical advice to other staff
  • Participate in skills transfer as required
  • Mentor junior staff

SELECTION CRITERIA is due on 8 April 2013

  • Proven ability in ICT procurement, tendering and contract management.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop policies and procedures and provide ICT procurement and contract management advice in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and other relevant legislation.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while displaying attention to detail.

NEGATIVE VETTING 1 level security clearance is highly desirable although Baseline will be considered.

Australian citizenship is an absolute requirement.
