My client is looking for someone who can effectively design, implement, maintain and repair the company's database.The role includes the development and design of database strategies, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.

Key Tasks include:

*Co-ordinate effective schema and data changes to Databases in DEV UAT and Production Environments

*Liaise with BA and Clients to code and implement Data Import and Reporting Requirements to business critical systems sometimes within tight timescales.

*Required to maintain and provide best practice around general housekeeping, administration and documentation

*Liaise between Developers, client, Business Analysts and Project Managers to ensure all parties kept informed in all aspects of work.

*Modify programmes to enhance processing performance.

*Provide day-to-day management of alerts for databases and services that are used by applications.

*Perform a combination of Development and Support Tasks as required.

Learn processes from other members of team and produce documentation beneficial to the entire team for inclusion in central knowledge store.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

*SQL DBA Experience with SQL 2005 and 2008 in a commercial environment.

*In depth knowledge of T-SQL, Implementing Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views and Functions.

*Experience of performance tuning

*SSRS 2005

*Ability to communicate both directly with third parties and technically within the team.

*Ability to liaise with staff to understand and document procedures

*Experience with database failover and database disaster recovery solutions

*Microsoft Certification (MCTS, MCTIP) SQL Server 2005, 2008 Implementation and Maintenance (or equivalent) an advantage

*Familiarity with merge replication, partitioning, mirroring, multi-site networking also useful

*2+ Years commercial experience as a MS SQL DBA

Desirable

*Knowledge of WNS Workflow Technology Applications.

*SQL 2000, DTS

*Replication (Transactional and Merge)

*SSIS

*Experience of Installing Windows Services
