Description:

The candidate will work with Client stakeholders to develop a roadmap for proving economic value of primary care ultrasound devices and drive the execution of health economic studies with key customers. These studies will aim to demonstrate the value of Client marketed and in-development products to providers and payers. The position is either U.S. or Europe based with focus on Primary Care Ultrasound. This requires working knowledge of different health care environments globally. In addition, the role requires an ability to build effective, collaborative working relationships with global-based clinical, regulatory, reimbursement and marketing professionals at Client as well as with external clinician and economist advisors.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Execute health economic and outcomes research studies.
  • Contribute to the effective delivery of economic value messages and input into the design of economic studies that meet identified needs for Client products.
  • Undertake in-house economic studies and related activities such as literature reviews and modelling.
  • Effectively communicate health economic plans and economic study results undertaken by Client and by other organizations to internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate multiple projects for a product team in order to demonstrate the value of a product across different therapeutic applications and customer segments.
  • Present research findings at professional congresses and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Required Qualifications: (minimum requirements)

  • Master's degree in Economics, Health Economics or related field (health services research, statistics, economics or epidemiology).
  • 5+ years of experience with healthcare economics, healthcare value chain analysis, payment systems, reimbursements consultancy
  • Some clinical background; prefer hospital expertise - healthcare administration specifically
  • Strong communication skills; front-facing customer experience; collaborative with higher levels in the customer and organization (physicians, department directors, health insurance execs, execs)
  • Willing to travel within U.S. and Europe
  • Willing to work outside traditional hours to meet needs of internal and external customers for teleconferences across multiple time zones
  • Excellent project management skills with strong orientation to detail.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the clinical development and regulation of medical devices.
  • Proven track record of generating evidence and publishing.
  • Experience and comfort working with and influencing diverse, multi-national, virtual teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD or Clinical doctoral degree (MD, PharmD) with a master's degree in health economics, health services research, statistics, economics or epidemiology.
  • Some experience with Ultrasound
  • Ability to develop and communicate health economic deliverables through digital platforms and channels
  • Ability to generate original ideas for research projects, develops/utilizes innovative solutions, ability to "think out of the box", can step back and look at situations from different points of view.
  • Simplifies strategy into specific actions with a clear solutions focus, makes decisions and communicates priorities; has ability to sift through complex information and focus on the critical few priorities
  • Experience in applying techniques of health economic evaluation to the area of diagnostic imaging and/or medical devices
  • Understands customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends; considers the external impact of business activities and decision on customers, market/industry, investors, media, government and communities
  • Ability to involve appropriate people to work effectively in a cross-functional, multi-cultural team environment; involves and motivates others to work toward team goals.
  • Successfully establishes rapport with wide spectrum of personalities. Maintains a professional image and credibility with openness and candor.
