SYSTEMS ANALYST - 3 MONTH CONTARCT (Immediate Start)
3 month Contract
Skills and Knowledge:
- 3+ years' experience in a similar IT role.
- Working knowledge of Software Development Project Lifecycle methodologies
- Ability to figure things out and to manage own time
- Strong client facing skills, outgoing character
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent problem solving skills with experience of dealing with business critical systems.
- Experience managing discrete pieces of work/projects from initiation to closure.
- Knowledge of insurance administration solution for life, pensions, health and general insurance
- Experience working on technical teams is critical. The individual must have a track record of building consensus between multiple business and systems teams
- Experience with implementing vendor application package
- Accurate with attention to detail
- Experience in process design and documentation
- Previous experience in a start-up organisation would be an advantage
- Ability to Influence without direct authority
- Ability to juggle conflicting priorities and demands on time
- Ability to meet deadlines and get the job done without predefined process
- Experience with project documentation and administration
- Experience with service support systems especially HP Quality Centre
- Self-Starter - Ability to motivate oneself and work on own initiative
- Team player - Ability to work within, and contribute to a team. Ability to drive teams whilst leading problem resolution
- French/Spanish speaking is not essential but it is an advantage
- Keen and enthusiastic
Technical Knowledge
- RDMS experience.
- Ability to interrogate data through SQL queries
- Solid VBA, Excel, Word, Access automation programming skills
- Nice to have SQL Server, MS Reporting Services, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Perl, Java
- Ability to learn new technologies and tackle all technical issues
- Ability to interrogate data through query tools eg TOAD, SQL Developer
- Exposure to Oracle PL/SQL (queries, stored procedures, packages, etc.) would be an advantage
Understanding of:
- ITIL Service Chain and Incident, Problem, Change and Release processes
- Understanding of database management (Oracle, SQL Server)
- A good understanding of web technologies and concept
- IT Service Support and Delivery - marketplace and best practice
- Service Culture
- IT applications and infrastructure
