Senior SharePoint Developer

Description

My client, a Multinational with HQ in Dublin, seek an experienced Sharepoint Developer. This client are serious about hiring, and growing their already impressive Sharepoint team.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with Solution Architect and business engagement to clarify business requirements and write technical documentation to support the development process - Understand how to write docs.
• Be the key developer in implementation of any SharePoint project in accordance with the agreed programme of work - to include inter alia, working as part of a team to identify the business requirements, design, test, enhance and rollout any of these SharePoint projects - Experience in share point development who can develop
• Experience with SharePoint package releases using PowerShell, support post go-live, including strong diagnostic skills. Nice to have
• Report to the Solution Architect on development progress, identify issues and risks at the earliest opportunity and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate - business type skills
• Understanding the relevant application development, infrastructure and operations implications of the designed/developed solution Must have
• Actively involved in development of complex solutions to issues which might include but are not limited to SharePoint 2010 customisation, custom solutions, performance and scalability and integration with line of business applications etc.
• Solution proposals, POC and prototype development - Nice to have
• HANDS ON EXPERIENCE IS KEY HERE

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years' experience in developing and implementing SharePoint applications (SharePoint 2010, custom development with SharePoint, deployment, OOB features, customisation etc.). At least 2+ years' experience should be in SharePoint 2010.
• Work experience and deep understanding of the following SharePoint and its associated technologies:
  o WebPart and Controls Development - MUST HAVE
  o Master Page and Page Layout development - MUST HAVE
  o Implementation of Content Type Hub - NICE TO HAVE
  o Search Customisation - MUST HAVE
  o Business Connectivity Services - MUST HAVE
  o Migration of MOSS 2007 based applications - NICE TO HAVE
  o HTML, CSS, XSLT, JavaScript/jQuery - MEDIUM
  o SP OOTB and custom workflows - MEDIUM
  o BI - Excel, PerformancePoint and Reporting Services - MEDIUM
  o Team Foundation Server - NICE TO HAVE
  o Understanding of infrastructure and security concepts - UNDERSTANDING HOW TO APPLY SECURITY
  o PowerShell and deployment scripts- MED
• Desirable SSRS, Project Server skills
• Demonstrated ability to resolve issues by analysing and evaluating possible solutions
• Experience in SharePoint developments with the internal and near-shore/off-shore development team
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Participate in planning and estimation
• Ability to rapidly assimilate new information and new techniques
• waterfall and more agile development methods
• MCPD and MCITP qualifications for SharePoint 2010 (preferred)

Education:

• BS/BE/MS degree in Computer Science

12 month contract initially, rolling. The role is based in Dublin. This company can facilitate an immediate start. However, they are happy to accommodate a notice period where necessary.
