My client is a major Australian media organisation and they are looking for an experienced Build and Release Engineer within their exciting new web content management project
Core responsibilities
- Organise, direct and manage activities for building and maintaining software releases for their promotion to the production environment
- Be responsible for implementing, improving and automating the WCMS release management process and tools
- Co-ordinate and work closely with multidiscipline teams as well as provide technical support in executing and managing the quality assurance, configuration and environment used for the final deliverables
Key skills and experience
- Essential - experience working in an enterprise Linux environment with UNIX Scripting experience
- Essential - Strong understanding of SDLC, build processes and environments using CI such as Jenkins/Hudson and compiler tools such as Maven, Ant, and/or Rake
- Demonstrated experience in design and implementing configuration management, automated build scripts and build quality tools
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Python and automation platforms such as Puppet, Chef in a Red Hat Linux environment is preferred
- Experience as a Build Engineer working in publicly visible high volume websites would be high advantageous
- Excellent communication, presentation and resource management skills
