Description
Utilising your existing Mainframe, Unix and Network knowledge you will provide ongoing system support in a leading financial services operation. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced operators to enhance their skills within a financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing reliable, secure and cost effective first level support to customers.
- Understanding and ensuring customer needs and requirements are met within defined service
- Providing detailed knowledge of a particular platform which can be run without assistance and be able to run multiple platforms if required.
- Escalating issues correctly, utilising the appropriate documentation and recording problems efficiently and accurately.
- Ensuring SLAs are met
- Ensuring effective problem resolution and escalation of complex problems to next level support teams where appropriate
- Providingspecific operational expertise and ensuring work quality level is maintained at all times.
- Ensuring continuous improvement and self-learning to keep abreast with technological changes.
Key Requirements:
- Experienced Mainframe, Tandem, Unix, Network operator.
- Significant experience in computer operations.
- Well developed data analysis skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Significant experience in an computer operations, with approximately 5 years in MVS environment, IBM and/or Tandem and/or Unix systems operations and systems management.
- 2-3 years experience in a first level support type role with technical knowledge to train others.
- Understanding of the stresses of working in a rotating 24 hour shift environment
