Based in South Birmingham this 'Outstanding' Ofsted 2012 Secondary School are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support their Mathematics Department with immediate effect until the end of the academic year, in August 2013.

As the successful Mathematics Teaching Assistant, you will have a strong academic record with A-Levels in Mathematics and be a 1st Class or 2.1 Mathematics Graduate. In your role as the successful Teaching Assistant, you will be required to utilise your own initiative as well as follow direction when required, and should be committed to inspiring young adults to gain the same joy and enjoyment out of the sciences as you yourself have had.

This role is available immediately, though the school are prepared to wait, if needed for the right Mathematics Teaching Assistant, and will run to the end of the school year in August 2013.

As the successful Mathematics Teaching Assistant, will be required to work with individual students and small groups in Years 7 through to Year 11 supporting the Maths curriculum. You will be required to run sessions with up to 10 pupils and be responsible for delivering the curriculum and supporting learning and development. In your role as the successful Mathematics Teaching Assistant, you will also have to carry 1:1 sessions with those children with lower attainment levels, and support them in raising the levels.

The Maths Department are a friendly, supportive team and the successful Teaching Assistant will be flexible, proactive and a team player. You will be required to plan sessions, organise resources and manage individual education plans. During the last Ofsted inspection in 2010 the Mats Department and school, received the grade of 'Outstanding'.

The school has excellent Leadership, which provide the school with clear direction and focus in their continued drive towards excellence. Whilst the schools Ofsted reports have been 'Outstanding' no one at the school takes this for granted and everyone is expected to display total commitment to maximising the potential of their pupils. The school can be found in the desirable area of Birmingham, with several public transport links being found located near by, making it easy to travel to and from. You will also be offered onsite car parking should you drive.
