I am currently working with a global financial services company to recruit a Senior Commodities Procurement Specialist on an interim basis for 6 months.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Senior Procurement professional with a proven track record & relevant experience to work in a global capacity for an industry leading organisation.
Key Tasks:
- Working with the Global Commodity Manager to develop and drive the long term commercial strategy of specific commodities, enabling the Group to step change its savings delivery.
- Responsibility for assisting in the delivery of a specific commodity strategy.
- Ensure seamless supply of goods and services to the Group.
- Engaging and influencing at senior levels to support Commodity Strategies
- To proactively direct all aspects of the supplier life cycle through strategy, business engagement, tender, negotiation and contract management, ensuring the best interests of the Group are served.
- Achieve annual savings as set in target for Commodity.
- Develop and deliver a commodities Procurement strategy in line with Procurement strategy.
- Understand business requirements and align commodity strategies to meet these requirements.
- Responsible for establishing, championing and delivering commodity targets that focus on cost, quality, service and innovation with the supply base. Identifying opportunities to create additional value and not just cost saving the category.
- To negotiate and implement terms and conditions of contract so as to assure maximum benefit, contractual protection and risk minimization for the Group.
- To continually reassess the operational risk inherent in the business, taking into account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings and impact of new technology and financial stability of suppliers.
- Manage Commodity suppliers, paying particular attention to CSR and ethical trading practices and the global marketplace.
- Drive the use the standard Procurement sourcing process and associated tools of E-procurement tools (e-Auctions, eRFX, etc.)
- HR Category includes Resourcing (temporary and permanent recruitment), Reward (Healthcare, benefits), Learning (training), Global Mobility (Relocations) and other HR Services (payroll)
- The Senior Commodity Specialist will be responsible for the Resourcing commodity on a global basis. including permanent and temporary recruitment, staff vetting and supporting services.
- The role has 4 direct reports.
