Outsource UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit for a contract role on behalf of a client.

Job Description
The successful candidates will be members of a dedicated expert team responsible for the design and verification of digital electronic solutions with a focus on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs) for our range of leading-edge mission computers, displays and flight control products.

Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience and knowledge of PLD/FPGA technologies and design tools and techniques.
Proven successful experience in Embedded systems design with a focus on FPGA/PLD development life cycles from fast turn around prototype demonstrators through to high integrity, safety critical designs.
Experience in working in small teams through development life cycle, with good work-package management skills of cost and schedule.
Experience of digital hardware circuits design with FPGAs would be an advantage.

Task Summary:
Providing technical excellence in the development and delivery of all aspects of digital designs with a focus on PLD/FPGA development from requirements development, concept and detailed design, coding, synthesis and through to complete verification.
Understand and manage lateral design impacts and promote total system design.
Manual and Model based design and coding approaches for PLD/FPGAs Model Based would be an advantage.
Managing tasks within schedules and budgets to meet programme needs.
Delivery of design artefacts in support of RTCA/DO-254 certification.
Processes:
Working knowledge of design for high integrity systems RTCA/DO-254 would be an advantage.
Requirements management and Configuration Control.
Experience of digital Embedded systems development life cycle.
Cost, schedule and EV Management would be an advantage.

Tools:
Mentor Graphics Tool set to include ModelSim.
Vendor specific tools Actel, Xilinx.
Working knowledge of Matlab and Simulink would be an advantage.
Behaviours:
Self starter, capable of managing own work and that of a small team.
Innovative approach to design and driving improvements to working practices.
Working with other disciplines within a team to optimise solutions and minimise impacts from dependencies.
Able to deliver to tight timescales and budgets.
