Description
Experienced Unix Engineer with experience of large scale data centre migrations required for three month contract to undertake a project to relocate multiple clients to a new Data Centre based in Western Sydney.
The role will entail the following duties:
- Physical installation of hardware.
- Installation and configuration of operating systems.
- Establishment of network and storage connectivity.
- Storage provisioning and troubleshooting.
- Data backup, restore and remediation.
- Data migration.
Due to federal government clearance requirements we can only consider Australian Citizens for this position.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well a minimum of four years experience of:
- Proven experience in the migration of Unix services between data centres.
- In depth knowledge of one or more of the following operating systems and associated hardware; AIX, Solaris, HPUX and Linux.
- Skills working with various types of SAN storage.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies and clustering.
- Ability to perform network installations from system images.
- Shell Scripting.
