I am urgently looking for 2 Mechanical Systems/Applications Engineers for an initial 6 month Contract based in Wolverhampton.

Rate is up to 45.00 per hour Limited dependent upon experience.

As the Engineering team is growing and the Mechanical Systems/Applications Engineers are required for a product development role. The focus of this role is the specification of components for aircraft actuation systems such as Thrust reversers, flap and slat systems and missile fin actuation. Systems are typically electrically or hydraulically powered and comprise of motors, gearboxes, transmission, brakes, actuators and sensors.

The candidate will as a Systems Engineer, be part of a multidisciplinary team to develop the system architecture, its functionality and its behaviour. The candidate will develop the requirements for components that make up the system and their interfaces. The candidate will be working with suppliers in the development of those components, reviewing designs and design data.

Key aspects of the work include:

- Developing a system design to meet customer requirements

- Writing requirements for systems components

- Selection of system components

- Managing interfaces

- Managing Requirements using DOORS

Qualifications and Experience:

- Degree qualified (engineering) or equivalent.

- Able to demonstrate extensive experience in mechanical actuation system design in areas such as aircraft, trains, automotive or off-highway vehicles.

- Have written specifications for actuation system components

- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.

- Experienced in the process of Requirements Managements.

- Ideally experienced in the use of DOORS.
