Job description
Role: Solutions expert
The VM Ware Technical Expert will be required to recommend and execute solutions involving the set up of a Virtual Development Environment with standard developer tool profiles.
The role will have responsibilities for scope and requirements definition; design recommendation, running a POC and conversion of POC into a robust deliverable.
In parallel, the role will involve working with the project team to deliver an interim solution to enable the use of developer software tools offshore on technologies including Microsoft and Linux.
Key Deliverables/Milestones
- Execute solution for the offshore use of software developer tools on Miscosoft and Linux platforms.
- Assist in definition of Requirements for Virtual Development Environment.
- Document Requirements and scope.
- Assist in solution definition and documentation
- Execute Proof of Concept
- Convert into Robust end state Virtual Development Environment
- Implement, Test and inform sign-off
Development tools methodologies to be used:
- Mail, SharePoint, Excel, MS Project
Must have/mandatory skills:
- Experience in hardware set up and virtual development environment set up.
- Experience in the installation of software tools.
- Experience in the creation and deployment of VM Images.
- Experience in offshore VM solution performance and latacy analysis
- Experience coordinating dialogue/ project tasks between multiple vendors
- Experiencing in combined Network connectivity and Virtual Development Environment end to end solutioning.
