Description
Responsibilities:- Interacts with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and optical designers to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability
- Provides technical support for production, resolving production issues
- Documents and releases work instructions to manufacturing through the company Product Life Cycle management process
- Creates and/or oversees product documentation, including drawings and bills of materials.
- Provides input to the product development team and ensures design output meets design input requirements.
- Designs, builds, maintains and qualifies production test fixtures.
- Reviews and optimizes appropriate manufacturing methods
- Interfaces with vendors to solve production problems and reduce costs
- Key member of the material review board, investigating defects to root cause and implementing corrective measures
- Expertise in manufacturing engineering, especially with medical instrumentation, laser systems and high-tech equipment
- Five (5) or more years of post degree experience
- Medical device experience preferred and/ or IS09001 or ISO13485 experience preferred.
- Design- based cost reductions
- Complex new product introductions
- Electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical experience desired.
