The Communications Executive is part of SG CIB Communication. The overall role of this corporate function is to define and implement the communication strategy on behalf of the Bank's Executive Committee, business lines, resources and regions, combining specialist knowledge and client proximity with a team of professionals worldwide.

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking Communications is organised around four activities
- Internal Communications
- Media Relations
- Advertising and Branding
- Events and Roadshows

Role summary
To assist the Head of UK Media Relations and team in a support function across all press activities, including general administration, arranging/booking meetings, preparation of quarterly information dashboards, assisting with the organisation and support of press events, roundtables, media briefings etc. Working with the UK PR agency.

Main responsibilities
Support to Media Relations Team
* Arranging media training for spokespeople.
* Assist in organisation of media events (press parties, cocktails, roundtables, press briefings)
* Compile 'Best of' press cutting books
* Distribute/Monitor daily press cuttings from on-line service provider
* Prepare the quarterly media relations dashboard (quantitative analysis of the bank's media activities)
* Support distribution of research to media including compiling information, obtaining approval and distribution, under supervision of Media Team
* Update the press relations database
* Travel arrangements for the media team
* Invoicing/subscriptions & license management
* Expenses management for the team
* Drafting and issuing of basic press releases, eg appointments, organisational, where appropriate and under supervision.
* Proof reading/editing of communications materials (press releases, Q&A, press statements, talking points, etc) produced by the wider team, under the supervision of head of team.
* General Office management - stationery orders, liaising with Helpdesk etc.

* Head of UK Media Relations and wider press team
* Members of the global Press Relations and Communication team; high level of contact; frequent (daily)
* Spokespeople and Business lines managers; medium level contact; regular
* External PR agency; medium level contact; frequent

Education
* University degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Past experience
* Graduate leaver or someone with 6-12 months' relevant experience who would like exposure to press/communications work

Languages
* Fluency in English. French/or another European language is an asset.

Technical skills
* Good understanding of Communication principles.
* Exceptional organisational skills.
* Exceptional writing skills.
