Then apply to join the User Experience Design team at CFY! We are looking for a dynamic and creative designer to contribute to the redesign of the PowerMyLearning® (PML) web application. This position will join as a member in the PML user experience design team and will be responsible for creating the graphical user interface for PML’s application interface.
This is a contract assignment with a minimum duration of 3 months.
As Visual User Interface Designer you will:
- Help lead the visual redesign of the website
- Be tasked with creating simple and elegant page designs and user interactions that fulfill the PowerMyLearning® mission of helping students, teachers and parents to access free online learning activities.
- Produce and maintain highly accurate comp documentation and other specification required to implement design concepts.
- Collaboratively develop and maintain scenarios, navigation models, interaction designs and prototypes for demonstration of concepts to clients.
- Understand target audiences’ needs and other motivating factors and translate them into visual designs for compelling interactions and experiences.
- Work collaboratively with Product Management and IT to define scope.
- Work closely with user experience designers to implement the look and feel of systems.
Ideal candidates have the following:
- You are an interface designer and you can demonstrate your ability to take an interaction design concept and translate it into production-ready mockups, assets & icons for platforms including desktop, web and mobile.
- Expert knowledge of Photoshop & Illustrator and a thorough understanding of graphic design principles, including screen layout, color theory and typography as it applies to the final app and interactions.
- A great online portfolio showcasing your work.
- Experience designing for Education or K-12 oriented applications, sites or products is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of CSS and HTML
- Experience creating wireframes of user interface for web applications is a plus.
COMPENSATION
