Overview:

Principle Accountabilities:
  • To effect rapid resolution of electrical, control & instrumentation issues.
  • To support the implementation phase of initiatives from the Improvement Engineer.
  • To support the implementation phase of Group Engineering projects.
  • First port of call for electrical issues escalated out of shift capability.
  • Accountable for the control and availability of plc software backups.
  • To create, develop and implement standard operating procedures and other supporting documentation to assist shift electricians in rapid diagnosis and return to service.
  • Direct liaison with OEM and other support contractors as required for corrective action and/or project implementation.
  • To advise and support the shift electrical trade through periods of equipment modification and change.
  • To support manufacturing efficiency through high level technical support / escalation for electrical / control system related issues.


  • 10. Support the maintenance strategy for electrical & control and instrumentation equipment through SAP input and interface with the Reliability and Planning engineering roles.

    11. To make minor modifications to Siemens S7 plc code as required for manufacturing support or project implementation.

    12. To ensure control system documentation is kept up to date and accessible to the electrical trade

    13. Maintain effective relationships with manufacturing plant suppliers.

    14. Flexibility to cover continental shift patterns.

    16. Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks.

    Qualifications/ Experience

    City and Guilds, HNC/ONC Electrical or higher.

    Experienced "hands on" electrical & control bias maintenance of FMCG plant

    Intermediate level user & experience of Siemens S7 PLC

    Use of CMMS Systems, SAP PM ideally

    Experience of both managing a team and working within a team
