Rate: £100.00 per day

Job Description

Support business functions by assisting with providing financial guidance to ensure that all stakeholders within the business area receive the financial information they require to drive the business performance. This may involve pricing analysis, costing and project work.

This role is part of the UK Operations and Product Costing COE. The role will initially be based from Macclesfield though with significant activity and customer interaction at Alderley Park and the intent that as part of Operations Finance COE development that this team transitions into GFS the location should be considered as Macclesfield/Alderley Park.

As a step in the development of Centres of Excellence (CoE) the scope of Macclesfield's existing Financial Accounting And Support Team (FAST) is to be broadened to take on additional accountabilities including:

  • Execute business and finance requirement to significantly improve the efficiency, effectiveness and robustness of product costing (FMC) at Operations sites and central consolidation.
  • Establish core finance processes and system implementation for Russia, including FMCs

Reporting to the UK Finance Manager, the role holder will provide effective finance data analysis for business decision support, focusing on supporting the Finance Business Partners, UK Operations, as well as providing support to colleagues in the CoE

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and analysis for the Business Partners and other members of the Finance team to support routine month end reporting accurately and within specified timescales and other ad hoc requests for analysis/follow up as required
  • Resolve cost centre related queries and investigations in a timely manner, and follow up where necessary, for example providing proactive training/guidance for cost centre managers
  • Coordinate the production of Finance inputs to Macclesfield Leadership Team's Cost Council, providing meaningful analysis on financial implications
  • Manage and maintain the cost centre structure for overhead costs in ICON
  • Develop and implement procedural improvements to control and minimise risk and further maximise efficiency
  • Ensure corporate governance standards are met, taking accountability for effective operation of relevant financial reporting controls

Minimum Requirements -Education and Experience

  • Experience of using financial systems; has good Excel skills
  • Solid bookkeeping experience - experience of month end closing processes
  • Experience delivering financial information to non-finance customers
  • Developing a deep understanding of customer needs and delivering tailored solutions
  • Able to identify improvements in processes and initiate change resulting in more efficient ways of working
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Builds relationships well with strong customer service track record
  • Qualified, or part-qualified finance professional or working towards qualification

Desirable experience

  • Formal bookkeeping qualification
  • Familiar with AZ reporting tools (HR.1, FinD+) and SAP
  • Studying for a professional qualification
