My client is building a brand new communications network to manage the two-way flow of data from the soon to be deployed national smart metering programme.
We are looking for an experienced IP network engineer who can perform non-functional testing on the IP element of the network. This will include load-balancing, stress testing and other types of testing to ensure high availability, high integrity, fault tolerant systems.
The role will involve creating and executing comprehensive test plans for product and system verification, the development and execution of manual and automated test suites, helping to establish testing processes and best practice, and setting up and managing test environments.
We are looking for candidates with experience of the integration of complex multi-product systems networks.
Candidates should demonstrate:
-Strong IP Networking skills
-Background in IP interoperability
-Prior experience of IP layer protocol solution integration (IPv6, UDP, link and transport protocols)
-A working knowledge/understanding of Linux (for scheduling, Scripting and resource monitoring).
Prior experience of virtualisation is also highly desirable.
Candidates should have a full clean UK driving licence and be flexible towards locations (our client has multiple sites) and working hours (some testing will take place outside of core business hours).
This role will require Security Clearance so candidates should either have current or previous SC or be eligible to go through the process.
