Description

Dev Ops Engineer

Permanent

Salary: Competitive + Stock options

Based in London

My client is looking for a Dev Ops Engineer to join their exciting London based tech startup. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a high profile/growth venture backed business with an awesome team that is making some major waves. The right candidate will join the engineering team based in Shoreditch, and will be instrumental in architecting, designing, building, and scaling the clients technology platform.

Role

You will be one of the first members of my clients newly formed Dev Ops group, responsible for automating their deployment and provisioning processes. You will be working to achieve continuous deployment, build helpful tools, and support the infrastructure for international launches.

The successful candidate will be working closely with developers, product management and operations, whilst writing code every day and getting involved in new feature developments from day one. Deployment comes first, not last, because shipping is a feature that every product must have.

Skills

Some, but not necessarily all of the following:

*Ruby - and the usual suspects like Rails and Sinatra

*Linux administration - CentOS

*Cloud-based hosting - currently we use Amazon Web Services

*BDD/TDD - we use Rspec and Cucumber and testing our Chef recipes is high on our to-do list

*Application tuning and monitoring - we use NewRelic, Nagios and Neustar

*Git for version control

*Database administration - we use SQL and NoSQL technologies, including Redis, MongoDB, MySQL and Neo4j

*Chef

*Experience of working in an Agile environment

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in both ruby development and linux administration and most importantly a can-do attitude and desire to learn.
