Description
NCC Operator (Network Control Center) with hands-on experience of HP Openview (HPOV), Network Node Manager (NNM), HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) or similar network monitoring tools is required for an immediate start by a global ICT organisation based in Brindisi, Italy. An initial contract period of 3 months will be followed by multiple contract extensions based on performance.Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide network monitoring services
* Handle service requests and monitor all incident details related to voice and data network and its associated components
* Monitor and ensure the proper data flow for email, Lotus Notes and other mission-critical applications
* Make initial assessments of requests, detect possible problems and escalate tem to other levels of support and problem-management groups
* Monitor and troubleshoot problems with server performance and utilization (hardware and software)
* Monitor Internet connectivity to the local providers, missions and agencies
* Maintain NCC activity logs
* Prepare shift reports on incidents
Qualifications & Experience required:
* Specialized training in IT, preferably with diploma, and at least secondary school education
* Overall knowledge of satellite communication and voice technologies
* Understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management processes
* Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Experience with service and user support in a help desk environment and network/data centres
* Knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches, and LAN/WAN, Storage Area Networks and EMC solutions, Lotus Notes administration, replication and email routing
* Familiarity with Operating Systems (Windows , Linux, Unix)
* Excellent English language skills are required
* Able to work in shifts
