The Company

Our client, one of the worlds largest services organisations working with the most prestigious clients across a range of industries including Banking & Finance, Telecommunication, Government sectors and Retails. Due to growth and expansion, they have multiple positions coming up in Cobol, PL/1, IMS DB/DC, DB2, CICS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This role will encompass the following activities at various stages of the project life cycle:
- Prepare Detailed Design, Functional Specifications, Test plans, Implementation plans and other Software Engineering Life Cycle deliverables for projects
- Application maintenance and support the application including basic understanding of incident management/problem management
- Develop and unit test programs using consistent development methodology's and standards based on program specifications to agreed schedules and high quality
- Work closely with the business team to analyse business requirements, organise design reviews, test execution and support.
- Responsible for lodgement of code in test and production environments on Mainframe
- Participate in various test and implementation phase activities

Essential Experience:
- Proven programming skills in PL/1 (minimum 5-8 years PLI/IMS knowledge)
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Good understanding of systems design and development methodology's
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Team player and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Work well under pressure and can multitask
- Good knowledge of Endevor lodgement process
