Electrical Project Engineer - 6 months

Working within the "Control and Electronics" department the chosen Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for delivering the electrical sub-system project across a number of vehicle variants for a well established armoured vehicle engineering company.

The role will involve being a member of a cross site highly adaptable team of engineers across the discipline needs of the complete vehicle system and sub-system electronic and software architecture

The individual should have a proven history in working on design and development vehicle system teams throughout the engineering life cycle

Proven track knowledge of understanding the technical aspects of the programme with regards to the following areas are required:

Electrical aspects such as systems harness design, equipment and component selection, analysis of electrical and electronic architecture requirements, integration and test

The individual will be able to support the multi-disciplinary Vehicle Systems team and act as a team member for all electrical areas of the programme

Further responsibilities include:
* Provide status reports on the progress of individual engineering activities
* Prepare harness drawings and circuit schematics
* Produce system and component level requirement specifications
* Supplier liaison
* Engage in system specific design reviews
* Carry out viability assessments of competing technologies and systems
* Support vehicle trials and exhibitions as and when required - both in the UK and abroad
* Provide concise briefings to Department Manager

Essential Skills:
* Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience
* A proven track record in the design and development of vehicle systems from concept through to series production
* Experience of engineering vehicle systems designs against performance and reliability targets
* Contemporary knowledge of existing and emerging technologies in the areas of Veronica systems
* Ability to liaise with and present information to multi-disciplined team members
* Ability to interpret vehicle system design requirements and propose appropriate design solutions
* Working knowledge of VeSys

Highly Desirable Skills for the Electrical Project Engineer:
* A strong background in military vehicle systems engineering
* Familiarity with current British Army tracked and wheeled vehicles
* Experience of working within a multi-cultural and multi-lingual engineering team
* Broad knowledge of standards and legislation applicable to military platforms
* Understanding of military EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements
* Experience in on/off highway or low volume/special purpose vehicles
* Membership at CEng level of a UK Professional Registration institution such as ET or IMechE
