We are seeking a Software Engineer who will play an important role in developing our infrastructure software on Amazon Web Services. Ideally you will have worked in both an operations role and development role at some point during your career. We also need someone who can distinguish between pragmatic architecture and software garbage! We're looking to hire a person adept with Internet enabling technologies, a Linux hacker and software engineer complete with experience of scaling an infrastructure that has hits in the millions each day. Someone passionate about technology and really motivated by creating the next cool thing.MUST HAVE:
- Expert PHP programmer
- Experience of developing software to use TCP, DNS and HTTP
- Experience of developing software on Linux and bash
- Experience of developing with TDD methods and within a Continuous Integration environment
- Experience of working effectively in a team and using XP practices
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience of DevOps principles and practices
- Experience of configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef)
- Experience administering nginx / apache / php / haproxy / memcache
- Experience of programming in one or many of Python, C++, Ruby, node.js and bash scripts
- Experience with NoSQL solutions (Mongo DB, Simple DB, Membase, Redis)
- Experience with RDBMS technologies (MySQL)
- Experience with AWS APIs (EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, Route53 etc).
- Experience with Scrum and/or Kanban
- Experience of Linux server administration, POSIX and Linux internals.
