Description
Our public sector health client requires an Internal Communications Manager for a temporary contract which could lead to a permanent position, if desired, based in Watford.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Demonstrable experience in an internal communications management role gained in a large, complex organisation
- Experience of developing and delivering internal communications programmes using a wide range of channels and media
- Experience of working closely with colleagues in other functions, such as IT and HR.
- Experience of shaping and delivering internal communications during periods of change.
- Knowledge and experience of techniques and systems for evaluating the effectiveness of internal communications.
- Understanding of and respect for patient confidentiality
- Demonstrable track record of managing, motivating and developing teams.
- Experience of budget planning and management.
- Understanding of the strategic issues in healthcare and their impact on
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong, instinctive approach to internal communications and staff engagement
- First-class verbal and written skills, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to act autonomously, dealing effectively with competing priorities, working in an atmosphere of regular interruptions and to tight deadlines
- Ability to research and draft professional copy
- Excellent proof-reading and sub-editing skills and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to carry work through from research to completion, implementation and final evaluation
- Understanding of the wider communications mix and ability to contribute as part of an integrated communications team
- Ability to forge and sustain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to manage a team, providing clear direction and supporting the personal development of team members
- Committed team player with a collaborative style, a willingness to challenge and an ability to listen
- Ability to handle sensitive situations, maintaining confidentiality, where necessary
- Ability to represent the Communications team on relevant groups and meetings
- Ability to promote internal communications support to colleagues
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
- Financial and IT literacy (Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
- Desktop publishing
