Field Transmission Engineer UKOn behalf of our client, a prestigious International Telecommunications company, Manning Global is currently looking for an experienced Field Transmission Engineer for a Contract position in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
• AT for Network Integration of Transmission network including various equipment such as SDH, DWDM node and ASON and related Severs etc.
• Understanding of TMN from various vendor and basic working knowledge of technologies.
• Ensuring timely field support as and when required and ensures minimum escalation and completion of given jobs within SLA / defined timelines and conditions.
• Raise/Request for the Planned Event (PE), co-ordinate with various stake holders including NOC and ensure successful completion of all change management requests or PE’s w.r.t network and O&M related activities.
• Carrying out traffic shifting & migration of network. Routing – patching, lacing & marking- Labeling of patch cords and maintaining.
• Testing of patch cords before laying and maintain the record for future reference.
• Process oriented and ensuring processes are being followed sincerely.
• Hands on experience – I&C, basic configuration and testing of various devices SDH, DWDM, ASON etc.
• Operating the various kind of the testing instrument for carrying the equipment and network testing – Ethernet and BER Tester, OSA, Oscilloscope, SDH Analyzer, LS & PM, SLM etc.
• Carrying out network & link stability tests.
• Basic knowledge of IP and its use.
• Understanding of telecom network element (NE’s) like Exchanges/ POI/ Core and Aggregate/
• Keeping a record of material & equipment issued and share the utilization detail .
• Ensure the spare availability before integrating new devices in network.
Desired Experience
• Hands on experience with Nortel/Ciena equipment like TN1X, Optera Metro, LH, DX/HDX, 6500, 5410 series.
• Hands on experience with Huawei 6800.
• Hands on experience on ASON/DWDM .
• Understanding Synchronization methods.
• Lamda augmentation/re-grooming techniques.
Qualifications:
• 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• B.E/Diploma in Engineering
