Description
An ideal candidate would demonstrate confident and effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as a robust understanding of sophisticated files, file layouts, and databases with VSAM, DB2, CICS, Cobol, JCL, and performance engineering across these disciplines.In addition to the skill lists above, a candidate with experience in the following would have an ideal background:
- Advanced CICS topics (Coupling Facility Data Tables, MVS Data Spaces (UMT/CMT)
- Channels and Containers
- SMF
- CPSM
- Transaction Routing
- Performance Tuning expertise
- significant expertise in capacity planning topics
- Experience or demonstrable knowledge in replication technologies (QREP or RRDF)
- Additional understanding or experience using RLS, CAFC, and VSHARE with VSAM files
- CICS Web Services internals
Experience with MQ Series on z/OS (Clusters, Shared Queue Groups, Security, Performance considerations, and integration with non-mainframe Queue Managers, and brokerage would highlight further a candidate's compatibility with the role.
