Sitec are currently looking to recruit an Electrical CAD Engineer / Technician for a large multinational electrical distribution network operator based in the East Midlands. The position is for an estimated 6 month contract and is paying circa 30.00 on an hourly basis.

Electrical CAD Engineer / Technician
Location - East Midlands
Rate - Up to 30.00per hour D.O.E

Accountabilities
* The construction, reinforcement, alteration, and replacement of assets
* The maintenance and repair of assets
* The restoration of supplies to customers and repair of faulty
* The issue of Limitations of Access and Permit to Work safety documents up to 33kV
* The organisation of individual projects
* The impact of project and own activities on customers, public and environment
* The health and safety of the team
* The identification of necessary physical resources
* The effective use of contracts
* The representation of the team and the Company at the individual level

Duties & Responsibilities
* Carrying out network operations including the issue of Limitations of Access and Permit to Work safety documents up to 33kV
* Construct distribution substations, construct and alter overhead lines and associated plant
* Install plant. Lay and joint cables up to 11kV. Terminate cables to plant and overhead lines.
* Carry out routine inspection, maintenance and repairs of underground, overhead and substation equipment up to and including 33kV.
* Repair and replace faulty and obsolete plant, cables and overhead lines
* Carry out testing and commissioning on High Voltage assets.
* Determine how specific works or projects are to be carried out, including consideration of time, budget and customer targets and constraints.
* Evaluate outage requirements and write full switching programmes.
* Issue planned shutdown notices, make appointments with customers.
* Exercise leadership in co-ordinating site activities, including on-site supervision and control of other team members, as appropriate.
* Assess the potential impact of a specific work activity on customers.
* Advise customers affected of the impact of own activities.
* Resolve customer complaints, wherever possible directly.
* Assess site risks, and take action to remove or avoid those risks.
* Identify opportunities for improvement in performance and implement or recommend change.
* Identify and request resources to improve individual and team performance.
* Issue work to contractors, and approve daily work sheets.
* Carry out quality and compliance checks on contractors' works.
