Control Systems Engineer
Rate: £26 - £31 ph (depending on experience)
Location: East Yorkshire
Duration: 3 months initially (extension certain for the right individual)
Control Systems Engineer required for an exciting opportunity with a rapidly expanding company in East Yorkshire.
Experience of dealing with software is required, however a strong hardware background is critical. Experience of implementing control systems and working with electrical systems is also fundamentally required to be considered for this opportunity.
The role will require working on projects using standard products incorporating PLC control, MIS and SAC systems and other electrical equipment.
Reporting to the technical manager, the controls engineer provides the following functions:
* Design and delivery of controls activities for projects
* Awareness of commercial conditions and contract obligations for projects.
* Application of department design processes and procedures
* Commissioning of systems at client sites, UK and overseas
The role demands a high level of technical ability, attention to detail and quality of output, the controls engineer is responsible for:
* Liaising with clients/customers and control of subcontractors
* Production and control of documents specified for project delivery
* Control system design and delivery
* Production of FDS and all necessary supporting documents
* Interface specifications and technical documents as required
* Control panel design with assistance of CAD engineers
* PLC & SCADA configuration and programming
* Design of the Electrical Installations
* Cable Schedules and calculations
* Production of Test and commissioning documentation
Applicants should possess all or some of the following;
* Degree level qualification in engineering (or equivalent)
* HNC level qualifications in Engineering, (or equivalent)
* Knowledge and experience of the application of BS7671, BSEN60204, BSEN13849, BSEN61439, Machinery Directive /EC
* Demonstrable experience in electrical and controls systems design and application.
* Knowledge of the requirements for PLC programming would be advantageous.
eg Siemens TIA, Siemens S7, Concept, Unity, Modicon
