Description
As an IT Technical Specialist you will be required to undertake application compatibility testing to support the department's OS migration project to Windows 7.
To be successful in the role you will have proven experience providing facilities management services for large corporate systems and will have experience of the following
- Application compatibility and remediation process
- Windows 7 & XP, Office Suite, SCCM, productivity tools
- Application Packaging (MSI)
- MS System Center Configuration Manager
- Windows installer technology
- Shimming
- Virtualization skills
- Active Directory & Group Policy concepts
Your responsibilities
- Customer coordination regarding application compatibility and packaging and technical assessment requests.
- Performing technical/application assessment of all software before testing. This assessment involves end to end validation of the Legacy software on target platform before undergoing actual testing.
- Helping project team in troubleshooting technical problems.
- Maintains knowledge of application assessment, OS migration (Windows 7), application packaging and virtualization, application deployment tools with implementation techniques.
- Participate in delivery of OS migration and application assessment projects.
