Migration Engineer - AIX Infrastructure - DCM (Data Center Migration Program) - in a Banking organisation

Background:
Our client is running a program on consolidating their Data Centers with multiple streams of migration of infrastructure. They are looking for Migration Engineer - AIX Infrastructure with a very sound experience in having undertaken migrations in DCM program.

Role: Migration Engineer - AIX Infrastructure
Location: Vilnius, Lithuania
Initial contract period: 1 year

Role:

The chosen Senior AIX Infrastructure Engineer will be completing the following day to day accountabilities:

  • Working with clients/designers to determine hardware/OS platforms
  • Working with PMs/Suppliers & technical resources to oversee the install of the infrastructure (Servers) into the datacenter(s)
  • Working with component teams in supporting infrastructure availability is in place
  • Working with Infrastructure designers to QA their designs
  • Working with Lead PM's to migrate the AIX environment
  • Working with Project Managers, to determine key projects RAIDS and formal critical outputs
  • Working with AIX component teams on Change control

Technical Experience:

  • 3-5 years of UNIX/AIX systems administration experience
  • Experience writing and debugging Shell Scripts in a standard UNIX Shell
  • Experience with AIX 5.3 and AIX6.1
  • Experience with AIX performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Experience with Power5, 6, and 7 architectures, including VIO, LPARing, and HMCstechnologies.
  • HACMP/Power HA
  • Experience in GPFS cluster installation/management
  • Experience in working with Oracle RACs environment
  • Experience with enterprise backup/restore architectures and concepts (possibly including, but not limited to, TSM)
  • Hitachi/IBM/Brocade SAN architecture and storage administration
  • Experience with IBM BladeCenters
  • NIM administration Experience mentoring other administrators
  • Experience writing and debugging scripts in Perl
