RESPONSIBILITIES:- Providing data network operational support, design, engineering, and planning for data network and communications projects involving TCP/IP and related protocol connectivity for networks supporting customers.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team in a 7x24 environment REQUIRED. A Cisco CCNA certification (or equivalent: Juniper JNCIA, etc.) is required. Cisco CRS/GSR/65XX/76XX, IP Routing BGP/OSPF/LDP, CCNA/JNCA, Sonet/ETH Transport, Juniper M320/MX960, Unix required. Requires an operations/networking background combined with creative and independent thinking. Ability to analyze complex circuit/networking issues and routing problems, an extensive knowledge in network design and maintenance, and an overall understanding of the IP transport principles. Also required are strong understanding of all emerging technologies and network security policies and standards. Need to possess a very broad technical knowledge and understanding of large scale, LAN/WAN networks. An advance understanding of OSPF/BGP Routing Protocols, switching VLAN design and setup are required. Experience with MPLS on an LDP switched network is required. Must possess the expertise to support less experienced peers in performing complex assignments and providing support for troubleshooting and maintaining IP Networks, concentrating on facilities ranging from Gigabit Ethernet to OC192. Candidates must have extensive knowledge/experience deploying and configuring Cisco high-end Routers and Switches (CRS, 12416 (GSR), , 6509/4, 4800, 3600, 2900). Juniper M and MX series experience is a definite plus. Experience in data networks supporting wireless services is also desired. Bachelor degree in a related field, 3-5 years of relevant work experience desired. Equivalent work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree may be considered.
