QA Tester
Skills: Agile development, QTP or QC, HP/ALM, TFS, SDLC, SQL
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related field
Summary:
Reporting directly to a Test Lead, you will be responsible for delivery of Quality Assured applications to production. You will be responsible for interpreting User Stories and Technical Requirements and executing Functional testing activities for an internal project within the client portfolio. Additionally, the successful candidate will work as an integral member of the team providing specific expertise in quality assurance throughout the full development cycle of our software solution.
The team is multi-disciplined consisting of Business Analysts, Tech Leads, Product Owner, Data Modelers/Developers, QA and a SCRUM Team Leader. Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of web application development source code (ie ASP.NET, PHP, JavaScript)
Responsibilities:
- Participate in all functional testing activities including Release/Iteration planning
- Review and convert User Stories and system requirements into positive and negative test cases and/or scripts
- Execute Manual and Automated test cases and/or scripts, report and retest bugs
- Track individual testing effort
- Conduct tests and analyze results to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and/or client requirements
- Provide status to Test Lead
- Adhere to QA & Test processes to support global QA Testing activities
- Write and execute complex test plans, debug, and report code bugs
- Ability to push quality upstream to product owners and other stakeholders
- Work closely with off-shore employees and 3rd party vendors to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirements
- Proficient at scheduling testing and meeting delivery deadlines
- Knowledge of network infrastructure components and concepts
- Must have Knowledge and hands on experience of SQL Scripting
- Must have experience working in an Agile environment
- Exhibit the ability to verify defect fixes and application requirements through execution of defined test scenarios/test cases
- Ability to perform various kinds of testing methodologies such as, Function, Regression, System Integration, and Data Validation
- Coordinate troubleshooting of integration issue; closely work with other teams in collaboration
- Report and track defects to closure
- Work with upstream and downstream application teams to create & execute test cases
- Lead and provide appropriate knowledge transfer to offshore testers to assist in efforts
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years as a QA Analyst
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working in an Agile development environment
- 3+ years of automation experience using tools such as QTP or QC
- At least 2 years experience with HP/ALM is required
- Experience working with User Stories
- Extremely detailed oriented. Must be able to repeat testing tasks multiple times without missing quality issues
- Extremely detailed oriented. Must ensure stories contain specific acceptance test conditions which communicate objectives to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with on and offshore teams
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle including Functional & Non-Functional Test Phases
- Experience on test programs with different types of testing, ie functional, non-functional, database/Back End testing
- Experience testing web applications, mobile a plus
- Ability to work and effectively team with clients and other management personnel across geographies
- Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
- Ability to escalate accurately, timely and efficiently
- Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with business analysis and business stakeholders to undertake exploratory testing
- Work with database administrators and developers to identify and carry out appropriate performance and load testing
- Able to provide leadership, participate and be a productive member of the team
- Must be able to manage time with multitasking
