I have an urgent requirement for a Mechanical Design Engineer with one of my key clients in Co. Louth.This is a 6 month hourly rate contract. The role will involve being responsible for carrying out mechanical, process and design activities and working alongside a leading medical device company.
Responsibilities:
* Work on project teams to develop clear specifications, evaluate feasibility of concepts, and provides formal estimates for mechanical designs.
* Creates mechanical designs and detail drawings utilising CAD modelling software, department standards, development tools and procedures.
* Assists in defining basic electrical component and automated control requirements.
* Uses applicable EN standards and directives to ensure that equipment is CE compliant
* Design of new production equipment and modifying / upgrading of existing production equipment using Solidworks and AutoCAD but also includes working on production equipment and gaining process knowledge to carry out the design tasks.
* Mechanical design / detail drawings using Solidworks.
* Produce project plans and reports using MS office software.
* Coordinates, monitors and documents project designs, estimates, and costs during project execution. .
* Ensure documentation/drawing standards for equipment meet the highest requirements.
* Use both internal and external specialists to support technology development and integration.
* Manage design & build projects.
Requirements:
* The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience as Mechanical Design Engineer.
* Proficient in Solidworks
* Machine Design Experience
* Part assembly experience
* An ability to work independently and to finish projects.
* Working knowledge or qualification in Solid Works and AutoCAD 3D packages.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
