My Client is looking for a mechanical design/CAD Engineer to work on the design of diesel/gas engine power generation packages and their ancillaries; primarily for the offshore oil & gas sector. On the Mechanical side, the focus will be on fabrication drawings and support frameworks. You do require a relevant engineering degree and plenty of previous experience working on complex and multi-discipline projects. The main skills required for either position are the transfer of designs from drawings in sketch through to CAD format, but a sound engineering understanding is required to help with the faultfinding process and to improve the designs to client specification.
Mechanical CAD Engineer
On the mechanical side The day to day role be will red penmark up's of detailed fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings of generator packages and ancillary equipment, project P&ID's, preparation of relevant structural/dynamic design calculations for member selection, weld & bolt strength, equipment selection and preparation of bills of material and purchase requisitions, project status reporting and liaison with project team (including participation in design review meetings).
