2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Hours: 3:00pm to 11:30pm

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Conduct routine planned maintenance as detailed by systems and directed by management.
  • Support production activities at all times by ensuring minimum response times to equipment breakdowns and achievement of equipment availability targets.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in line with lean thinking and Maintenance best practice.
  • Maintain safety and regulatory equipment at all times and report any defects.
  • Maintain a log of activities carried out on equipment ie hours worked, spare parts used, etc., using designated systems
  • Ensure that maintenance cover for production areas is provided at all times by demonstrating flexibility regarding working overtime to provide cover for holidays, sick leave, shutdown periods, busy periods and as required.
  • Provide support to the Utilities function to ensure that production critical utility supply is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure compliance to all aspects of the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental procedures is maintained.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the Good Manufacturing Practices requirements maintained by the company.
  • All employees are responsible for minimizing both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work that they perform.
  • Work closely and interact with the other groups within the Engineering and Operations departments.
  • Comply with EHS Regulations and Policies

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or local equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in machine maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skills. Specifically, PLC Programming Skills, able to wire and program new/automatic equipment.
  • General skills and expertise related to maintenance and facilities activities.
  • Demonstrate levels of theoretical knowledge with practical application.
  • Relevant working knowledge of a regulated industry and GMP.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding and repair
  • Completed Engineering Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumental Engineering
