Description

The Primary responsibility of the Server Administrator is to manage Servers in a complex distributed environment. This will involve the configuration, and management of the Physical Servers, Storage and Virtual Devices with Cisco LAN/WAN equipment. The primary production Servers are IBM BladeCenter based with IBM N Series (NetApp) storage.  HP stand alone Servers are also widely used.  The environment is Windows AD with VMWare/VCenter, Citrix and SQL Server.  The ERP is SAP running on Windows/SQL Server  The company is in the process of migrating SAP to AIX/DB2 based infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have extensive data center based experience managing Blade Servers, Storage and core networks.

Responsibilities:
Primary Focus: Server Administration of IBM BladeCenter and SAN environment
Setup, configure and administration of Windows and AIX Servers
Manage Physical and VMware/VCenter Server environment
Virtualize and Consolidate Standalone Servers
Manage Blade Infrastructure (IBM BladeCenter H, BNT Switches)
Manage SAN Infrastructure (IBM N Series/NetApp)
Manage backup services for Data Center and Remote (WAN attached) Servers
Manage storage area networks for maintenance, capacity planning and efficient utilization.
Proactively manage the server performance.
Proactively manage the storage performance.
Maintain inventory records of equipment and hardware as well as maintenance recos in order to satisfy asset management guidelines.
Performing daily, weekly and monthly system maintenance
Manage back up of files, operating systems, and data bases.
Troubleshoot HW and Server applications
Manage security and the integrity of mission critical systems.

Qualifications:
Proven server administration skills with minimum 7 years experience
Holder of MCSE designation
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Capable of developing and delivering presentations to any audience
Proven achievements as a self motivated performer, problem solver, decision maker and risk taker
Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
Maintaining and executing Disaster Recovery planning and implementation.
Ability to travel and work after hours to make production and/or problem management changes
Project Management skills to multitask as well as deliver on time.

Requirements:
MCSE 2003 certification or above
SQL 2005 (or above) and/or IBM DB2 certification.
Must have experience in multiple Server operating systems
Must have experience in clustered systems
VMWare/VCenter configuration and management experience
IBM N Series (or NetApp) Storage Experience
IBM BladeCenter Experience
BNT Network/Switch Experience
Citrix Experience
Patch Management
Managing Backup & Tape Library System
Anti-Virus Management

Nice to have:
SharePoint Server administration
Citrix Xenserver certification
AIX Knowledge/Certification
DB2 Knowledge/Certification
