New opportunity is immediately available for a Senior Design Engineer with experience associated with large utility stations within the "New Build" or Retrofit Upgrade markets. Projects will vary but might include piping refurbishment/replacement, header replacements, heavy lift project, oxygen injection project, HVAC refurb or decommissioning projects, stack replacement, structural steelwork upgrades.

You will be required to use mechanical expertise to carry out dedicated mechanical support for proposals/contracts/tenders, technical specifications of components and mechanical equipment, layout/design, check and review, forecasting mechanical load requirements on projects

You will be responsible for an internal team of up to 10 drafters/designers and report to the Project Engineering Manager. You will be technically responsible for work produced by this team and any associated sub-contractors used during the design phase. Readingand checking drawings, checking calculations and collating technical information to highlight any issues to the Project Engineering Manager.

You should have experience working within Heavy Industry, Silo's fabrication Process Industry Systems. You will need have a high levels of problem solving ability, FEA, Problem Solving & Documentation skills. Ideally you will be experienced in one of the following markets, Petrochemical, Cranes, Rotating Equipment, Turbines, Lifting Material, Hoist, MOD, Bespoke products and Oil & Gas.

Experienced in the following would be an advantage: rotating equipment, pump and Mechanical handling equipment would be an advantageous plus good documentation & specification skills.
