Key Accountabilities(tasks, duties, responsibilities)
- To work with design, engineering and operations departments to ensure that specifications are established for components and products that are appropriate for fit, form, and function requirements.
- To support project teams and engineering in optimising experiments for evaluating the effects of design changes and component variability on product performance.
- Apply appropriate quality improvement techniques, including statistical methods, within project teams with the aim of developing robust products and processes.
- Audit project teams for process compliance, and to identify improvement opportunities
- Critical evaluation of data generated by product development teams to improve decision making
- Carry out and document investigations into non conforming products and processes and implement effective corrective actions, working with suppliers where appropriate.
- As befits an organisation of the size and entrepreneurial spirit of the Group, perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned or required by the Group.
Experience
- Practical application of quality improvement techniques, within technology driven consumer product development, preferably encompassing an electronics engineering environment, with proven record of achieving results in delivering robust products to market
- Familiarity with a range of test and measuring equipment, for general engineering products and some practical experience in measurement and test methods
- Practical experience in the use of appropriate statistical methods for data analysis and in the efficient use of experiments to collect data
- Experience of working with ISO9001 standards and internal auditing experience would be advantageous
