This challenging role will see you design, communicate and implement technology architectural solutions amongst seasoned piers in meeting key objectives within a pre-determined time frame.
On a daily basis you will:
- Defining technology architecture vision, strategy, principles & standards.
- Establish buy-in from stakeholders, management, delivery partners, and throughout the company.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure enterprise architecture artefacts including the technology and infrastructure plan, current state architecture, target state architecture, architectural roadmaps, architecture patterns and technology standards.
- Govern across and ensure that the scope and design of strategic projects are aligned with the target Enterprise Architecture.
- Ensure that tactical initiatives risks and deviation from strategic plan are understood, justified and communicated.
- Review and assess impact of proposed scope changes to the future state technology architecture particularly related to architectural trade-offs and TCO.
- Assess effectiveness of technology and make recommendations where necessary; identify opportunities for cost reductions and service improvements.
- Assist in hardware resource availability and capacity planning in an advisory role.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of relevant industry/vendor products and solutions.
- Take the opportunity to share and communicate knowledge of the technology architecture, and other areas of expertise with the wider IT group as well as other business units.
- Contribute to the overall alignment of other IT teams including development, services delivery, and IT Operations.
- Minimum 4 years experience as an Infrastructure or Solutions Architect.
- Must have a strong technical infrastructure background.
- Excellent understanding of technology and technology standards.
- Must have a solid understanding of the basic EA concepts, EA theory, documentation frameworks, and modelling.
- Exposure to documenting all enterprise architecture areas (applications, data, technology) is preferred, as well as a proficiency in the documentation of the infrastructure/technology architecture area.
- Highly professional and self-motivated individual with the ability and desire to work with experienced IT professionals in all disciplines of a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Personal qualities: innovation, resourcefulness, tenacity, independence, energy, and self-confidence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to document and present models, strategies, standards, and concepts to both business and IT audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to learn business process and operations and apply technical solutions.
- Excellent technical judgment, happy to make decisions and be accountable for them.
