CAD Mechanical Design Engineer - Cambridge - £35/40 an hour - Up to 12 months - Medical Devices
Problem solvers required for an immediate start on a long term contract that will challenge you on a daily basis.
A well renowned organization based in the Cambridge area are in need of a strong mechanical design engineer who has come from a medical mechanical, pharmaceutical or surgical background
You will need:
* Strong mechanical engineering skills and problem solving abilities (preferably including thermodynamic systems)
* Ability to generate complex concepts starting with a blank sheet
* Experience of taking concepts through to well thought out CAD models and beyond
* Injection Moulding experience
* Multi tooling experience with plastic devices
* Experience of supporting of the manufacturing process
* Tolerance analysis
The Mechanical Engineer will be expected to make a solid input into the development of drug delivery devices, manufacturing systems and surgical technology. As a Mechanical Engineer you will be working within a challenging and technical commercial environment and be expected to contribute to technical and demanding medical technology projects. The Mechanical Engineer will be integrated into a multi-disciplinary department full of talented and like minded people. In order to be considered for the Mechanical Engineer position you must hold: Achieved high academic results throughout your education including an undergraduate degree from a top ranking university in Mechanical Engineering. A very strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and the capability of applying these essentials to solving technical problems. Experience of concept to production mechanical projects, ideally in a consultancy environment. Extremely self motivated and possess excellent communication and presentation skills. A mixture of skills including creative, experimental and analytical capabilities.
