Contract Position based at: West Midlands Whitley
Hourly rate £25.66 Ltd per hour basic 40 hour week

Position Description:

Working for a major OEM in the West Midlands on a long term contract (min 10 Months on going) Hourly rate £25.66 Ltd per hour. Experience in the Design and package analysis of cooling, Lubrication and intake systems

Part of an established, motivated and fast moving team, the successful candidate will deliver engine components and sub-systems as part of a module. Delivery scale would be from concept to post launch and subsequent in field warranty support, on commencement the candidate may expect to work heavily on our new engine programmes. Keys areas of responsibility: design/package (leading Design and CAD engineers) and design development (leading suppliers), leading the component/sub-system, DVP and FMEA, cost optimisation, complex issue resolution, project management to GPDS milestones, supplier management, change management via WERs releasing system and launch preparation via APQP and PSW deliverables.

Skills Required:
Component/System design experience of cooling, lubrication and intakes. Keys areas of responsibility:

* Design, development and package analysis (working with Design and CAD engineers), advanced problem solving, part delivery.
* Quality Process (DFMEA and EFDVS), Launch preparation via APQP and PSW deliverables.
* Project management to GPDS milestones, Supplier liaison, Change management via WERs releasing system (BOM updates)

Skills Preferred:
Plastic component design, casting design, pipe/fabs.

Experience Required:

* The successful candidate must have a depth of experience in the design, development and delivery of one of the following systems: cooling, lubrication, intake in modern petrol or diesel base engines.
* They must have expertise in the system and component design of these systems and have taken such components/systems into production.
* They must be able to lead processes such as FMEA, DVP and problem solving.
* They must have managed suppliers on part delivery and be expert in component design and design for manufacture.

Experience Preferred:
Working knowledge of product delivery system (AIMs, GPDS and EFDVS systems) would be an advantage.

Education Required:
Degree or above
