Instrument Technician

A ONC qualified Instrument Technician with prior experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector is required for an initial 2 month contract in the Dundee area.

The Instrument Technician role is responsible for maintaining and calibrating instrumentation within a hazardous atmosphere. The successful applicant will have prior experience of working on plant equipment to include pressure, temperature, flow measurement, control, engine governors, PLC logic, proximity sensors, fire and gas detection and extinguishment.

Candidates will need to be qualified to ONC level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and should ideally hold current CompEX certification along with a good working knowledge of permit to work systems and risk assessments. Relevant candidates will need experience in a similar Instrument Technician role with exposure to compressors, rotating equipment and gas-driven machinery.

Key requirements for the Instrument Technician role are:
- Prior experience in a similar Instrument maintenance focused role within the oil and gas or petrochem sectors
- ONC qualified in a relevant instrumentation focused discipline with CompEX certification
- Experience of working on plant equipment to include pressure, temperature, flow measurement, control, engine governors, PLC logic, proximity sensors, fire and gas detection and extinguishment.
- Working knowledge of permit to work systems and risk assessments

As an instrument technician you will play a lead role in the maintenance delivery of a key site within the UK Utilities network.

We can offer you:
- Initial 2 month contract (will be extended upon completion due to amount of work that needs completing)
- Up to £30 per day
- Exposure to a major utilities company with a wide range of projects
